Maasai Girls Education Emancipation (MGEE)

Founded in 2023 in Nainokanoka Village, deep within the heart of the Ngorongoro District, Maasai Girls Education Emancipation (MGEE) was born from a powerful vision: to uplift Maasai girls and women through access to education, health, nutrition, clean water, and economic empowerment.
Established by a passionate group of three dedicated Maasai warriors, the organization was built on a foundation of deep-rooted cultural values combined with a strong desire for community transformation. These founders recognized the barriers faced by young girls and women in their communities—limited access to education, early marriage, health challenges, and economic dependency—and committed themselves to becoming agents of change.

Mission and Objectives

MGEE’s mission is to:

Empower Maasai girls through education, Promote access to basic healthcare and nutritional awareness, Improve clean water availability in remote villages, Support and strengthen VICOBA (Village Community Banking) systems, to promote financial independence and entrepreneurship among women.
