Alajara Lengere Mollel

Tanzania Forest Service Agency
My name is Alajara Lengere Mollel. I was born in Alailelai Village, located in Alailelai Ward of Ngorongoro District, in the Arusha Region of Tanzania. I am a proud husband and a father of four wonderful children and one wife.
I am the founder and an active member of Maasai Girls Education Emancipation (MGEE), an organization dedicated to empowering Maasai girls through education and community development. In my role, I work closely with local communities, schools, and stakeholders to promote access to education for girls, raise awareness about the challenges they face—such as early marriage and limited resources—and help implement sustainable solutions.
I take pride in advocating for gender equality, supporting girls’ rights, and creating safe, supportive environments where they can thrive academically and socially. Through leadership, community outreach, and program development, I am committed to building a future where every Maasai girl has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Personal Experience

-> I started my forestry career in 2013 by pursuing a Certificate in Forestry at Olmotonyi, which I completed in 2015. That same year, I joined Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS), where I have worked to date. My duties include forest patrols, reforestation, community education, and enforcing forest laws.

-> In 2021, I returned to Olmotonyi for a Diploma in Forestry, graduating in 2022. This deepened my skills in sustainable forest management and community engagement.

-> Beyond my technical role, I’m passionate about empowering girls in marginalized communities, especially among the Maasai. Through TFS outreach programs, I have educated families on the value of girls’ education and encouraged young girls to pursue learning, linking environmental conservation with gender equality.
